Celebrating 130 years of the German singing Tradition and love of song in the capital city of Indiana!
One hundred and thirty years ago a few men founded the Indianapolis Liederkranz singing society. Their purpose was to preserve and perpetuate in America - their great new country - the culture and heritage of the "alte Heimat" in song. Through the decades we singers have lived up to the purpose of the Liederkranz founders and by so doing, we have also enrich American Culture in this great "melting pot" nation of ours. At the same time we provide an environ-ment where German language is sung and kept alive and where Gemuetlichkeit at its best can be found in the Liederkranz Hall, 1417 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.
